School Road and O’Halloran Drive – pedestrian improvements

What

We’re making improvements at the intersection of School Road and Larsens Road, and at the intersection of O’Halloran Drive and Halswell Road (SH75) for people walking and crossing at these locations. We’re installing a new crossing point on School Road in addition to build outs and road marking changes on Larsens Road, and a new crossing point on O’Halloran Drive.

Why

To make it easier and safer for people to cross School Road and O’Halloran Drive. This is part of a larger package of works to make it safer for children to get to local schools.

20 January 2026 to 27 January 2026. Tuesday to Tuesday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent).

Details

What you need to know

  • From Tuesday 20 January 2026 to Tuesday 27 January 2026, School Road will be closed at the intersection of Larsens Road. There will be no access through this section of School Road while we are working.
  • There may be short delays during working hours, and your understanding is appreciated.
  • Temporary traffic management (road cones, signs) will be installed as part of the works.
  • A 30 km/h speed limit will be in place so we can keep our team and everyone safe.
  • We'll need to remove on-street parking to allow space for the works, and to keep everyone safe.
  • We know this work can be disruptive, and we appreciate your co-operation and understanding.

Information for Residents

  • Access to properties for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained around the worksite where possible.
  • We'll help people get around the site. Please advise our team if you have specific requirements e.g. medical visits, large deliveries, home help or any planned works.
  • There will be increased construction noise and vibration at times, and we'll do our best to keep this to a minimum.
  • The work will have no impact on any services such as water, electricity, telecommunicatins, and gas.
  • The timing of the work and certain activities will depend on the weather and the roads. We'll provide updates if there are changes to the planned works.
