Waltham Road and Rogers Street - wastewater pipes replacement

What

We are renewing the wastewater pipes in your street.

Why

The pipes have reached the end of their service life and require replacing.

Where

Waltham Road (between 52 and 60) and Rogers Street (between Waltham Road and Hume Street).

When

26 January 2026 to late June 2026. Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent).

Details

Traffic management will be in place while work is underway. Please expect cones, construction vehicles, and temporary changes such as:

 

  • One-way streets
  •  Road closures
  • Lane reduction
  • Temporary traffic lights
  • Parking removal

We will confirm details for each stage closer to the time.

Stage 1 – blue zone (Waltham Road between 52 and 60).

  • Rogers Street and Bunyan Street will be closed 24/7 at the Waltham Road intersection from Monday 26 January to Tuesday 31 March.
  • Temporary traffic lights will be installed on Waltham Road from Monday 26 January to Tuesday 31 March.

 

Stage 2red zone (Rogers Street between Waltham Road and Hume Street).

  •  Rogers Street will be closed between Waltham Road and Hume Street, 7am–5pm, Monday to Friday, from Tuesday 17 March to Tuesday 30 June.
  • The intersection of Rogers Street and Hume Street will be closed 24/7 from Monday 18 May to Tuesday 30 June.

 

Access

Pedestrian access will remain open. You may need an escort - please ask our contractors.

 

Driveway access may be limited at times, especially when work is in front of your property. We will give notice where possible. If you need to get in or out, and access is limited, speak to our contractors and they will help you.

Other Information

  • Work may be delayed if the weather is bad
  • There may be extra noise, but we will keep it as low as possible
  • Please follow directions from traffic management staff.
  • If you have special needs (medical visits, deliveries) please let our contractors know.
