Details
Traffic management will be in place while work is underway. Please expect cones, construction vehicles and temporary changes such as:
- One-way streets
- Road closures
- Lane reductions
- Temporary traffic lights
- Parking removal
We will confirm details for each stage closer to the time.

Stage 1 – blue zone
Hutcheson Street: One-way (no exit to Colombo Street) from Monday 26 January – Friday 13 March
Hastings Street West: Closed from Colombo Street to McDonald’s entrance from Monday 16 February – Friday 13 March
Walton Street: Closed from Colombo Street to shopping centre exit (296 Colombo St) Wednesday 11 March – Friday 10 April
Stage 2 – red zone
Southey Street: Closed from intersection with Colombo Street to 192 Colombo Street driveway Monday 26 January – Friday 10 April
Roxburgh Street: Access controlled by temporary traffic lights Friday 6 March – Friday 10 April
Access
- Pedestrian access will remain open. You may need an escort, please ask our contractors.
- Driveway access may be limited at times, especially when work is in front of your property. We will give notice where possible. If you need to get in or out, and access is limited, speak to our contractors and they will help you.
Other information
- Work may be delayed if the weather is bad.
- There may be extra noise, but we will keep it as low as possible.
- Please follow directions from traffic management staff.
- If you have special needs (medical visits, deliveries) please let our contractors know.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.
Safety
Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
