This project was originally scheduled for late 2024. However, when work was set to begin, we discovered that a very old watermain pipe under the road hadn't been properly sealed, resulting in a slow leak that created poor ground conditions at the foundation. This required a change of approach, with repairs to the road's foundation being carried out first instead.
Then, from August to December 2025, a wastewater pipe renewal project on Simeon Street was carried out by Three Waters, as the existing sewer pipes had reached the end of their service life and needed replacing.
