November 2019.
Our city thrives when communities get involved in decision-making. To enable this, the Council exchanges information and ideas with communities about the decisions that affect them. To ensure consistency, this engagement needs to align with the significance of the issue, proposal or decision.
Under the Local Government Act 2002 Amendment Act 2014 (LGA), Councils are required to develop a policy on significance and engagement, to give greater clarity and certainty to the community about how and when it can expect to be engaged.
