Are you prepared for when the next natural disaster occurs?

Learn how to get ready for and deal with large-scale emergency situations.

Students will learn the difference between an everyday emergency and one that requires a larger response, and what to do before, during and after the event.

Focus your experience by choosing from earthquakes, floods, pandemic, tsunami or storms.

Learning outcomes

We are learning to:

  •  Identify the difference between every day and large-scale emergencies.
  • Understand what a Civil Defence Emergency is.
  • Identify the main natural disasters that can affect our city.
  • Name some actions we can take before, during and after the disaster event.
  • Explain what needs to go into a home emergency response kit.
  • Make a plan to help our whānau, family and friends be prepared to deal with a natural disaster event.
