Description |
Enter Misty Peaks Reserve through the farm gate and follow the direction markers along the unformed track as it heads near Mt Berard. The track offers expansive views of the harbour and heads through a pine plantation before dropping steadily to a bluff. It climbs again here to reach the ridge and flatten out. After taking in the gorgeous views return the same way. Be sure to watch out for cyclists – this is a shared-use track. You could also use this track as part of a circuit from Akaroa township for a longer day out (approximately four to seven hours). Get ready for this track using Plan My Walk(external link)(external link) by the NZ Mountain Safety Council. You can find track alerts, weather forecasts, trip reviews and a packing list, so you are set for your adventure. |
