What’s happening at the Southern Centre?
Opening of the Southern Centre Sensory Room
We are pleased to announce that the Southern Centre Sensory Room will re open on the 19th March at Pioneer Recreation and Sport. Bookings are now available by phoning (03) 941 8999.
Customers are required to make payment at the Pioneer Recreation and Sport Customer Service Desk prior to the commencement of their session in the Sensory Room, please present receipt as confirmation of booking.
The Southern Centre Sensory Room is located on the first floor at Pioneer Recreation and Sport Centre, follow the signs up the stairs and to the left, a lift is also available.
Term 2 classes: All Feet Can Dance and Every One Can Move
Bookings are open for Term 2 classes of All Feet Can Dance and Every One Can Move (03) 941 899.
Adult Classes for Term 2 2012:
- All Feet Can Dance classes begin Monday April 30th and end June 25 11:15am – 12 o'clock.
- Every Body Can Move classes begin Thursday May 3rd and end June 21st 1pm – 1:45pm.
The Southern Centre Multi-Sensory Experience
Relax and enjoy a sensory world of light, sound, scent and touch. We use a wide range of sensory effects that creates a stimulating but restful experience.

Multi sensory rooms are recognised as providing a space for participants to have fun, interact, explore and absorb different experiences.
The equipment is fun for all people of all abilities, but can be particularly rewarding for children, youth, people with disabilities and adults who are young at heart!
